Recipes
I've been on a cookie testing/making/eating kick in preparation for the upcoming Holiday season. I was searching through my pantry looking for some ingredients and found a pack of dates so I quickly whipped up a batch of hermit cookies for us to have with our tea during the week.
We are on a cookie baking roll here at Olive and Ruby. I like to bake when I'm stressed and given the number of baked goods coming out of my kitchen I must be really verrry stressed. LOL!! I make big batches of these, then freeze them so that I can pop them in the oven and have fresh cookies on demand.
I've tried many different chocolate chip recipes but this is hands down, the best recipe that I've found. It's a recipe that makes a lot of cookies and the beauty is that you can freeze them and bake them as you'd like.
Anyone who knows me in real life knows of my love/obsession with ginger. I really try not to make these cookies too many times during the year, but this is the time of year that I can indulge in all things ginger guilt free.
There are three dishes that I love, that are my comfort foods, that cheer me up when I'm down and this is one of them. There's something about the way that the cheese sauce wraps itself around the pasta until you can't tell where one starts and the other begins. It gets me every single time.
I love Cheesy savoury scones and try to make them as much as I can, the boy prefers sweet scones so since he was away this weekend I made up a batch and me at the dog had a mini feast.
