The office potluck - a gathering that definitely brings people together especially when you've got a bunch of serious foodies cooking in the kitchen. This week we're talking about Gatherings a new book by Julie van Rosendaal and Jan Scott, you definitely want to check this out.
I was fortunate enough to be invited to Earls on King Street for a preview of their fall menu, which will be rolled across most restaurants in October and November. It was an incredible evening filled with lots to eat and drink, and best of all I got to talk to the chef's who were responsible for bringing these creations to us. What a fun evening!
Have you ever opened a book and after the first sentence, you think to yourself – has the author been in my kitchen? A couple of weeks ago I got my hands on an advance copy of The Messy Baker and over Ginger Vanilla scones had a conversation with Charmian about the book and the inspiration for it.
I've been super busy this summer. I've been given some added responsibilities at work so it's meant longer hours, which has translated to less blogging. Despite this, I've been trying to keep up with my Ice Cream Sundays series and have succeeded for the most part. I was thrilled to receive this book to review and agreed because 1) I'm very curious about Paleo and for a while considered doing it, and 2) it fit very neatly into my Ice cream series. So here are my thoughts...
One of my other favourite things about summer is the number of farmer's markets that pop up around town. I love to wander though the aisles and pick up freshly picked fruits and veggies and get inspirations for new dishes to make/and or try. Here are a couple of tips that I've picked up from my years of farmers market shopping.
