I started to hate food blogging. Hate is a strong word but it how I was feeling by December 2014. The thought of making another recipe, for the sole reason of trying to capture web traffic, made me sick. After a 2 year run, I hit a wall and started to hate working on this blog.
Over the past three months my non-blogging life has been on fast forward while my blogging life has been paused. Other than a couple of commitments that I’d made before the summer ended, I’ve neglected this poor little blog terribly.
When we first moved into this house I was in a hurry to decorate. We moved two apartments into one house, so after much culling – mainly his things – and purchasing new shiny things, we arrived at a style that makes our place feel like home. But our style has since evolved, and I want to make some changes, so after much procrastinating I'm pulling up my big girl boots and getting started.
This summer I’ve been helping a good friend get her son ready for university. He's going to school in Ottawa and like many others he’s moving into residence, so based on advice from lots of sources and a whole lotta mom common sense they came up with a list that they used to get him ready for school and I thought I'd share it with you :)
Travelling to exotic locales yearly comes at a price. Over the last couple of years, I've passed on doing certain things around the house. I'm restarting some of those projects and from time to time you'll see them pop up on this blog as I expand Olive and Ruby into other areas of my life.
Can you believe it, we are through the first 6 months of the year, and well into my favourite time of the year - Summer!!! The last 2 months really flew by with 1 big project completed, 1 work trip, 1 big pleasure trip and lots of activities in between. I missed the May recap so instead of doing my regular write up, I'm doing a pictorial wrap up of my activities.
Welcome to Olive & Ruby
Hi, I’m Rhonda! Welcome to my blog on cooking, baking and my life. I now live in the beautiful metropolis of Toronto, but spent the first 17 years of my life on the Caribbean island of Trinidad, where I met and fell in love with Olive & Ruby.
